While perusing the Langley Continuing Education booklet one autumn, Pearl Shaw came across an Item of a beginner painting class with Susan Falk as Instructor. She mentioned to her husband “I’ve always liked Susan’s paintings, I’d love to take her class!” Kindly, he said, “Go for it.“ She never looked back!
 
Her friend Loraine Dickson then introduced her to the Port Kells Arts Club where Pearl had the opportunity to take lessons from various other local pro painters—Brian Croft, Kelly Ulrich, Joanne Dennis, Leo Hu, Maria Monks and many more interesting and varied instructors. Pearl used acrylics first, then really enjoyed water colour paints. She is now frustratingly trying oils!!
