I was born in Liverpool, UK brought up in Holyhead, North Wales, moved to Nigeria when I was 10, left there in 1967 due a war and came to BC with my family, so when people ask me where am I from I generally say I’m not sure. However living in Langley now for 38 years I think I can safely say I am from here now!
I have been painting for as long as I can remember, I am 100% self taught with no professional training. The only training I took was an iconography course at Trinity Western which was a real challenge for an Acrylic scenery artist, but completed the program.
I use Acrylics on canvases, and wood boards for my paintings. Some are from calendar pictures, some off the internet and some from photos I take myself. I am not sure I have a “style” as many of my paintings look like photographs.
I am a member of the Company of Jesus, an Anglican monastic dispersed order, hence my title as “Brother.” I am ordained and am active in my parish at Church of the Ascension in Langley.
I joined the Port Kells Art Club in 2023 primarily due to fact that I just wasn’t painting as much as I used to so getting together with a bunch of artists each Thursday morning has me painting again.
