
Carol Kim was born and grew up in Seoul, Korea. She got a Master’s degree in Aesthetics at Hongik University which is well known for its fine art and graphic design art in Korea. She immigrated to Canada in 1998 with her family. After graduating from Vancouver Community College she has worked for an education and immigration agency for 15 years.
After her early retirement in 2020, She decided to pursue her passion of painting as well as writing. Currently, She is actively involved as a member of Korean Writers Association, Vancouver Canada Chapter, after she won the spring writing open contest in Poetry in 2020.
Also, She has been a member of Port Kells Art Club since 2020. She has taken art classes offered through Port Kells Art Club mainly oil and acrylic painting and she would like to participate in art /sale events and art shows and local art exhibitions.
Her drawing subjects vary from landscapes to florals and abstracts. She really enjoys painting the nature and environment in Canada. The wonder of nature and scenery is what she loves to paint about. She loves being outdoors and uses it as inspiration for her painting.
