I spent my early days in Ladner but have been a resident of Langley for the last thirty years. Both areas have much in common with lots of green space and places to walk and be close to nature. I love being outdoors and use it as inspiration for my artwork.
Over the years I studied painting, drawing and print making. I attended Kwantlen College in the early 1980s studying Graphic and Communication Arts. It was a very intense program of visual arts covering illustration and design, photography and audio visual presentation.
Currently I paint using acrylics or water colour. I recently joined group of local artists in Delta for Plein Air painting in the local parks, farms and water ways. It has been so exciting being out in the elements with the wind blowing the clouds around and the sun shining down on the landscape. It can be a challenge to pick out the best composition and light. You have to work fast and the light is constantly changing. It has added an element of excitement and I find I am always learning something new.
