When I was young my parents owned a beautiful original oil painting of roses. As a young girl I used to spend hours studying the brush strokes and marveling at how such seemingly simple lines could convey such beauty! I was determined to learn how to paint like that some day!

For many years I pushed aside my dreams as work, marriage, children and day to day life took all my energy. As I neared retirement, I decided to finally start learning how to paint. Since 2022, I have taken art classes offered through Port Kells Art Club, in watercolor, acrylic and oil painting. Each class has expanded my appreciation for the many different styles of art. I have thoroughly enjoyed each class and am working towards developing my own style using the many skills I have learned.

I enjoy hiking, kayaking and just spending time outdoors. I get a lot of inspiration from the scenic beauty of BC. I hope to keep painting for a very long time!
