Aitchison-Gail

My love of nature and wildlife has led me to focus my painting mainly on Landscape and Wildlife. My painting style is between impressionism and realism.

As a child I was influenced by my grandmother, an artist, and my father, a great outdoorsman. Their early influence led me to many of my later decisions.

Upon graduating from UBC, my life centered around teaching for the next 30 years.  Many of them were as the head of the School Art Department.  After retiring, my efforts centered around taking painting instruction from professional artists in both Canada and the United States requiring me to travel to the Okanagan, Oregon and Oklahoma several times for private lessons. I have completed the four year Yarnell School Fine Arts Programme majoring in the Landscape Certification programme and am at present taking a portrait drawing course.

When not composing a new picture to paint , I am teaching painting privately, enjoying the outdoors, taking photographs, hiking, exploring wilderness trails or gardening in my back yard.
